The historical record regarding the destruction of the library of Alexandria may be spotty but it was most definitely preceded by a period of political divisions, intellectual purges, and deportations.  That feeling of repeating history is not your imagination.  This fall we laud the librarians and teachers and hope you visit and support their efforts on the HG.
